MòdnaTemp is a small standalone applet that can be used on any GNOME desktop environmnent.
It fetches periodically readings of the current outside temperatue in Modena, Italy and displays them in a separate window or in the icon overlay.
MòdnaTemp is written in C and makes heavy use of the GTK+ framework. It also implements some of the XML parsing functions offered by the XML Gnome toolkit.

MòdnaTemp is a very basic applet for the GNOME desktop environment.
Its only purpose is to display the outside temperature recorded in
Modena, Italy with at precision to the 1/1000th degree Celsius.
Weather Report is in fact MUCH better than MòdnaTemp.
It provides not only current conditions reports but also customizable
forecasts for locations all over the world.
First of all because I have a big ego and I like seeing my name in
as many source files as I can :D .
Secondly because if you ever tried a desktop/bar applet to see current
weather conditions in Modena you must have been very disappointed. The
only weather station that provides public weather data around here is at
Bologna's airport (BLQ), almost 50 kilometers from Modena.
This means inaccurate readings, especially during autumn, winter and spring.
From my house :) .
I recently installed an outside temperature sensor (to alert me if I need
to wear my winter jacket or not) and then I thought of making the data
public. But since I had never worked on anything GTK+, I said "Why not make it an applet altogether?".

Suck it up. English is the web's language.
Thank you for the kind thought, but I don't need money.
Give it to charity instead.
